Bus workers and Labour City & County councilors with the last bus offering cheap fares as it starts its journey from Church Street in Sheffield. Bus fares in South Yorkshire were to rise by over 300%. This was because of the Thatcher Government's decision to abolish the 6 Metropolitan County Councils in 1986 whose responsibilities included public Transport.
